What is Masalona?

An app that reads stories, written by our editors and personalised with your child's name, in a narrator voice or an AI copy of your own voice. Made for bedtime, especially on nights you are away.

Do I need an account?

No. Type your child's name and start. You create an account (email, Apple or Google) to record your own voice, buy a plan or use your data on another device; what you prepared so far is kept.

How do I record my voice?

Tap "Record my voice" in the Voices tab. In a quiet room, read the sentences on screen for about one and a half minutes. The first sentence is your consent. Your voice is ready in a few minutes and we notify you.

Why was my recording refused?

If it is too short, too quiet or the room is too noisy, your voice cannot be copied well. Try again in a quiet room, holding the phone a hand's width from your mouth.

How long does a story take?

Usually a few minutes. You can leave the app; we notify you when it is ready. A prepared story is kept, so you never wait to listen again.

What does "prepare a story" mean?

Each story is prepared once and then listened to as often as you like. The free plan prepares one story with your child's name; every other story is read by the narrator with its own hero’s name. Silver prepares every story with your child's name, without limit. Gold also lets you record up to 2 family voices and prepare 30 stories a month in your own voices, shared between them. Recording a voice is part of Gold only.

Can I listen offline?

On Silver and Gold, "Download for offline" saves a story on your phone so you can listen without internet.

What happens when a story ends?

If you choose, a lullaby or rain plays softly for half an hour and then fades out. The sleep timer can also stop a story after a set time.

Is my child's voice recorded?

No. A child's voice is never recorded. For a child we keep only a first name and a few optional details.

How do I delete my data?

Settings has "Delete my voice", "Delete child data" and "Delete my account". "Download my data" gives you a copy.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by the App Store or Google Play: on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.
