Delete your account and data

You can delete your Masalona account and data at any time. Deletion cannot be undone.

In the app

• Your whole account: Settings → Delete account. Your account, child profiles, recorded voices, the voice copies at the voice provider, every prepared story and your support messages are deleted.
• Only your data: Settings → Delete all my data. Your account stays; child profiles, voices and stories are deleted.
• Only your voice: Settings → Privacy and data → Delete my voice. Your recording, its voice copy and every story read with it are deleted.
• Only children's data: Settings → Privacy and data → Delete children's data.

If you cannot open the app

Send an e-mail with the subject "Delete account" to cesaapps@proton.me from the address registered to your account. After confirming it is you, we delete your account and data within 30 days and let you know.

What is deleted and what is kept

• Deleted at once: your account details (e-mail, sign-in links), child profiles, voice recordings and voice copies, prepared stories, support messages, notification settings and usage records linked to your account.
• Backups: deleted data leaves our server backups within 14 days at the latest.
• Kept for a short time: usage records never linked to an account, carrying only a device ID, for at most 90 days; server logs containing IP addresses for at most 14 days; a record that the account was deleted (no e-mail or name) for 1 year.
• So that the free plan's one story with your child's name cannot be used again on the same phone, a one-way hash of the device identifier is kept, with no personal data and no link to an account.
• A record of your plan, purchases and usage (not your voice, children or stories; your e-mail only as a one-way hash) is kept for 10 years for our accounting and tax obligations and so we can restore what you bought to a new account if you ask; the usage summary is deleted after 2 years.
• If you signed in with Apple, Masalona's sign-in at Apple is removed too.
• Your subscription is managed by the App Store or Google Play; deleting your account does not cancel it. Cancel it in your store account settings.
